Instructed by Nancy M. Violette, Ph.D., LCSW, LCADC<br /><br />This one-day seminar will focus on three questions: Why is being happy important? What are the things that promote happiness in clients and ourselves? Why is this issue important for clients struggling with addiction problems? This seminar will explore theoretical perspectives and practical uses of positive psychology in clinical practice in the addictions. The course will provide a comprehensive theoretical framework for a conceptual and practical understanding of pessimism/optimism, negative/positive<br />emotions, happiness, contentment and self-fulfillment in the lives of our clients regardless of their stage of recovery. Resources and ideas for work with clients will be addressed. Practitioner self care using positive psychology approaches will also be addressed.
